WMO-GFCS: Global Framework for Climate Services
GFCS provides a worldwide mechanism for coordinated actions to enhance the quality, quantity and application of climate services.
GEOSS: The Global Earth Observation System of Systems
The Global Earth Observation System of Systems will provide decision-support tools to a wide variety of users. As with the Internet, GEOSS will be a global and flexible network of content providers allowing decision makers to access an extraordinary range of information at their desk.
WCRP: World Climate Research Program
The WCRP mission is to facilitate analysis and prediction of Earth system variability and change for use in an increasing range of practical applications of direct relevance, benefit and value to society.
JPI-Climate
JPI Climate is a collaboration between 14 European countries to coordinate jointly their climate research and fund new transnational research initiatives. Transnational coordination of the research base aims to overcome research fragmentation, to make better use of precious public R&D resources and to facilitate cross border collaboration between top scientists.
Climate Services Partnership
Climate services involve the production, translation, transfer, and use of climate knowledge and information in climate-informed decision making and climate-smart policy and planning. Climate services ensure that the best available climate science is effectively communicated with agriculture, water, health, and other sectors, to develop and evaluate mitigation and adaptation strategies.
Climate-ADAPT: European Adaptation Climate Platform
The Climate-ADAPT aims to support Europe in adapting to climate change. It is an initiative of the European Commission and helps users to access and share information on: expected climate change in Europe, current and future vulnerability of regions and sectors, national and transnational adaptation strategies, adaptation case studies and potential adaptation options and tools that support adaptation planning.
EIT Climate-KIC: Knowledge, Innovation and Community
Climate-KIC is one of three Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) created in 2010 by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The EIT is an EU body whose mission is to create sustainable growth. We support this mission by addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation.
